Consulting*

The classified ad said, "Wanted: CEO needs a one armed consultant, with a social sciences degree and five years of experience."

The man who won the job asked, "I understand most of the qualifications you required, but why 'one armed'?"

The CEO answered, "I have had many consultants, and I am tired of hearing with each advice the phrase 'on the other hand'.

Joking apart, consulting has its fair share of stigma. It is true that many people view consulting as a process involving people who take the watch off your wrist in order to tell you what time it is.

At NGA we are very clear about what consulting means for you.

Firstly, we work with you to define your project. What are the objectives and how do they link to your strategy? Why are you potentially embarking on such a journey? What is the benefit if you do and what ailment will remain if you don’t?

Secondly, we test with you your hypothesis through a process of analysis using interviews, diagnostics surveys and workshops. Who has most to gain or lose and by when? What are the key levers for change needed to make a difference? Who are the key personal, where are the development areas? Some people would call this a project frame.

Lastly, we support you with the training and coaching element of any plan you decide to implement. This also involves co-design of some tools, systems and processes which we align with your existing ones if possible, or we help you re-design if not.

To be clear, we are happy to say we are not Mckinsey or Accenture, and unlike a lot of consulting firms, you will also hear us say “That is not in our scope of expertise”

We don’t use jargon or buzz words, and we won’t try to ‘BS’ our way into a project. We do however talk straight, and we have a combined experience of over 70 years, (doing that calculation just now was a little confronting) plus a bucketful of business acumen and common sense.

Contact us to find out more – we will come straight back to you.
